The West Mill - an incredible venue all year round, set within the heart of Derbyshire with the beautiful backdrop of the river derwent & its weir. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at this venue every year since I started my business and through the different seasons it never fails. Gosh, back during the strange time in between the different rules and tiers during Covid but extremely happy times when you have a day like John and Hayley did. I know Hayley from college and she’d followed my business since the early days so it was such a pleasure to photograph their day on a sunny wonderful July afternoon 🧡

When Jasmine got in touch she was super keen on capturing the spring essence and daffodils in the grounds of the West Mill and boy were they out in force, a bed of Daffodils at this time of year was just magical after a long and grey winter.

The late autumn/early winter light changes so much but the ceremony room at the west mill always seems to have the most wonderful warming feeling to it, a glorious sunny day followed by the cosy and atmospheric evening by candlelight and powered by espresso martinis.

Late December weddings, the low ceilings and big windows at West Mill just lend itself to being such a cosy and atmospheric venue, especially in the winter. The exposed bricks and unique features of the building and it’s quieter spots to have some time to yourselves for a few photos is wonderful without having to take a step outside in the blustery weather if you don’t want to.
