Should I Bring My Pet To The Wedding?

Honestly? If they’re a huge part of your everyday life, then probably yes.

Some of my favourite wedding moments have involved dogs charging through confetti, sitting proudly during ceremonies, or wandering into photos completely uninvited. It always makes the day feel more personal, more relaxed, and more like you.

That said, it’s worth thinking about whether your pet would actually enjoy it. Some absolutely thrive around people and chaos, others would much rather stay at home asleep on the sofa. A lot of couples choose to have them there for the ceremony and drinks reception, then let a family member take them home before the evening starts — which honestly works really well.

The main thing is making sure someone else is responsible for them during the day, so you’re not worrying about leads, water bowls or where they’ve disappeared to while you’re trying to enjoy yourselves. And don’t worry about them being perfectly behave, the best photos usually come from the slightly chaotic moments anyway — muddy paws, unexpected interruptions, everyone fussing over them during drinks. That’s the stuff that actually feels real afterwards.

If having your pet there would make the day feel more like your wedding, then I’m fully here for it.
