oooh, i do love a cosy wedding in the colder months...
There is something so magical about fairy lights, scented candles, the aroma of a hearty meal and the condensation on the windows following a busy dancefloor! Here's my favourite local(ish) venues that would be a great venue choice for an autumn or winter wedding. Now, don't get me wrong there are a few more things to take into account when marrying during the months with less sunlight, timings are key if there are certain images you're wanting to create, but take a look at the venues and see if they fit what you're looking for.
loversall farm
A venue i've had the pleasure of working at year in and year out since 2018, with a cosy, high ceiling barn for the ceremony to a relaxed and intimate dining set up for enjoying your time with your guests, a great spot!
dodmoor house
A simply stunning venue i've had the pleasure photographing at on a number of occasions now, the staff are always fantastic. It has such a rustic feel to it and it's set in wonderful grounds, right next to a canal too!
norwood park
If you've already checked out my fave outdoor wedding venues, you'll notice this venue is there too because it is such an all rounder. Summer outdoors to cosy winters inside, a great choice for a venue!
The ashes barn
A relaxed, rustic and family-run wedding barn venue in a gorgeous fifty acre estate, close to the Peak District. With different barns for set for the ceremony and then reception, a great set up for a relaxed wedding in beautiful surroundings.
cockliffe house
The refurbished farmhouse set within Nottinghamshire countryside, only 10 minutes drive from Nottingham City Centre, great to escape the city but still close enough. Such a warming space with cosiness through and through.
colwick hall
From smaller intimate weddings to larger, this venue can cater for different sizes throughout all seasons, right in the heart of Nottingham.
The west mill
And at last but by no means the least, the incredible West Mill set in Derby. A firm favourite amongst myself and other photographers for it's beautifully lit rooms and quirky, industrial vibe.
Autumn and winter weddings
Weddings are incredible all year round and no matter where you choose to say the "I Do's" - the important thing is that your friends and family are there with you. I've done weddings in Brewery Houses, registry offices, big grand venues and small, intimate venues to weddings in Italy, you have to go with what makes you happy.
